N-MARKED TYRE GUIDE

N-marked tyres are the result of a rigorous joint development process between Porsche and leading tyre manufacturers like Michelin. The "N" stands for Nürburgring, where these tyres undergo extensive testing. Each marking (e.g. NA0, NA1, NA2) corresponds to a specific Porsche model and generation.

The high-performance Porsche-approved tyres are easy to identify from their new model-specific N-markings on the sidewall of the tyre. This prevents any mix-up between approved tyres and conventional standard tyres or old N-marked tyres. Be sure you always fit the correct Porsche-approved tyre on your Porsche car.

Benefits of choosing N-Marked tyres for your Porsche

Only the very best bespoke tyres are good enough to combine the power of a Porsche with the highest level of safety.

Our tyres are:

  • Designed for short braking distances in all weather conditions,

  • Developed for maximum level of control and cornering stability,

  • Customised for the spring/damper system,

  • Optimised for stabilisers, differentials, and control systems.

How N-Marked Tyres Enhance Porsche Performance?

MICHELIN tyres with N-marking are not just high-performance tyres. They are the result of close collaboration with Porsche to deliver an optimal driving experience, tailored to the specific requirements of your vehicle.

Porsche specification with N-marked tyre:

  • Exclusive technology: an optimised hybrid blend of silica and black carbon for the perfect balance between grip on dry and wet conditions,

  • Maximum performance: an UHP compound with a high rate of black carbon for maximised dry grip,

  • Custom development: each tyre is tested and approved according to Porsche standards to ensure safety, comfort and sportiness.

What Are Porsche N-Spec tyres?

The markings on the sidewall of the tyre indicate the Porsche model for which it was designed, as well as its generation. Here is what they mean:

  • Letter after "N": indicates the model line,

  • Number: shows the tyre generation, starting from 0.

Example with the MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 S NA0 marked tyre:

  • N: approved by Porsche

  • A: developed for the Porsche 911 (992) platform

  • 0: first generation of this tyre

Porsche N-marked tyres FAQ

Porsche N-marked tyres are high-performance tyres that have met the quality and performance standards set by Porsche and have been designated with an 'N'. These tyres undergo rigorous testing and are approved specifically for certain Porsche models.

The N-markings on Porsche tyres indicate that they have been custom designed for specific models, ensuring optimal compatibility and performance. They enhance handling, traction, and safety specific to the needs of each Porsche model.

The N-marking code on a tyre indicates the Porsche model the tyre is designed for, as well as the generation of the tyre. For example, NA0 might be designed for the Porsche 911 Carrera first generation.

Recommended tyre replacement depends on driving habits, road conditions, and tyre maintenance. It's generally advised to inspect tyres regularly and consider replacing whenever wear indicators suggest.

While you can technically fit any tyre that matches the size and spec of your vehicle, N-marked tyres are specifically designed for optimal performance with Porsche models. Using them on other car models could result in suboptimal performance.

N-marked tyres by Michelin are specifically developed in partnership with Porsche to enhance vehicle performance, handling, and safety, aligning perfectly with the technical specifications of Porsche models.

Michelin offers a range of N-marked tyres, including options for road, track, and winter conditions, each tailored to specific Porsche models.

Each N-marking on MICHELIN tyres corresponds to specific Porsche models and generations, ensuring a perfect match for enhanced safety and performance.
