Winter tyres are specially designed for safe driving in temperatures below 7°C, whether or not the road is snow-covered.
What are the best winter tyres for your car? In this article, MICHELIN presents its best winter tyres and the opinions of independent tyre testers after testing their performance in winter conditions.
The 3PMSF label helps you recognise a good winter tyre
The 3PMSF marking indicates that the tyre guarantees safety and mobility on snow.
This marking is issued by a certified laboratory after testing the tyre according to a standardised and regulatory method and satisfies the required level of performance for safety and mobility on snow.
This marking is gradually becoming the standard for identifying a good winter tyre.
The 3PMSF (3 Peak Mountain Snow Flake) symbol is easily recognisable: a snowflake surrounded by three mountain peaks. In accordance with the regulations, it is systematically accompanied by the M+S logo on the sidewall of the winter tyre.
Each of the tyres shown below is marked 3PMSF.
