Montés sur Volvo XC70 AWD en 235 50 R18, en remplacement de Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 utilisés 6 saisons. Sur route sèche ou humide, températures hivernales : D’abord agréablement surpris par le confort exceptionnel de ces nouveaux pneus. Les aspérités de la route sont gommées, on roule sur du velours et en silence. Pour autant, ils ne perdent pas en précision (ce que je craignais par rapport aux Pilot Alpin). Ils sont même très directifs. Sur autoroute la voiture est sur des rails, même avec du vent de travers. Les appuis en virage sont nets. Très sécurisant sous la pluie. Sur neige en montagne : Grip impressionnant en virage et au freinage sur route enneigée parsemée de plaques de glace. Leur comportement est sain et là aussi très sécurisant. Pas une seule fois pris en défaut. Montée et descente sans problème d’une pente enneigée et très raide. Moins moelleux que sur route sèche. Normal à priori avec les températures négatives. En conclusion, Michelin a sorti une nouvelle version de sa gamme Alpin qui met la barre encore plus haut. Reste la promesse de longévité augmentée. Rendez-vous dans 6 ans.
