As the kilometres build up on a new set of Primacy 5s my satisfaction keeps in step. Having always had a ‘sports’ tyre with a less finicky tread pattern, these tyres appeared rather fussy and more in keeping with a less frisky car. At the outset, I was unsure that these Primacy 5s would come close to the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s which they were supposed to replace. Since fitting the Primacy 5s, I have been delighted the improved fuel economy, reduced road noise and excellent handling and braking in all conditions. Adding further to my happiness with these tyres has been the cash back offer. The offer reduced each tyre by an additional €9 per tyre.

Terms of publication and processing of online reviewsVery good on wet conditions. But a bit noise when going past 120km when comparing with Primacy 4. Still its very comfy and grippy.

The new tyres are great, I drive 14 miles a day down wet country lanes and they have been superb in the wet as many time I have to stop quick when someone comes the other way. They are quiet too.

Terms of publication and processing of online reviewsThree months after fitting the tyres, 2.5k miles, they are down to 6.2 mm of tread - quite a shocking rate of wear. I drive in a manner which should be fuel saving as well, so no harsh braking/acseleration.

Terms of publication and processing of online reviewsTheir grip in corners in both dry and (more often than not) in the wet is somewhat lesser than what I used to experience with Continental premium contacts. Braking is (mostly) good. High speed stability is very good.

Terms of publication and processing of online reviewsVery Disappointed - I did 24,000 miles on my previous Premacy 3 tyres and even then there was some wear left before I changed them. With the new ones and only 4,000 miles later, I have received a warning from the garage during a service that the tread was down to almost 3mm on the fronts and 4mm on the rears Same car, same style of driving. It makes me wonder if I got a bad batch. Also, the ride seems harsher compared to the Premacy 3s.
